Our Love Story Begins Today

Today was filled with a lot of promise, but it went www pretty fast. But I think you got to still eat some good food and I hope you had a good time and rest.  It’s not easy, but I think you do a good job of taking care of Vinh. It’s not easy, but this is what we signed up for. ATYGN!!!

But not Mary Magdalene. Great DMV photo. Total opposite of the TN badge you go. You definitely “glammed up” as they say. Aside from the gray hairs and bags under your eyes, you’re aging well. Hope you continue that process, but I’ll still love the same you if you don’t. ATEN!!!

Last night I decided to make Jello and add some probiotics to it so I don’t waste it. Looks kinda gross like semen in the jello, but it might have all floated to the top. I ate it anyways and it tastes fine. I wonder if the probiotics survived in the jello or am I just wasting my time. Sorry I didn’t have anything to blog about at the moment. TTQD!!!

I buy things I think are cool, but I don’t always have an occasion or want to wait to give them to you. Sometimes when a special day comes around I may not have a gift in mind, but I hope you know what I think about it all the time. Not a big deal, but I got you a travel toiletries case and bottles. I think it’s cute. Hope you like them. I didn’t do anything wrong lol. Just because gifts. ATEN!!!

Vince came up with a term called powerful fat. Where you’re fat, but also powerful. I’m not powerful fat, but I’m powerful smart sometimes and I was able to maneuver the bed downstairs. Pretty proud of myself. Hopefully your parents will be okay with this setup because I really couldn’t think of any other setup that would work with the headboard. #superstition. TLG!!!

I may have already blogged about it before, but it’s always a good reminder. Sometimes we can’t worry too much about other people or too much about things we can’t control (even if they’re important). That takes energy and joy away from ourselves and the things we can control. I saw this bed and thought it was cute and you could probably fit in it or get it for a girl since you always want to buy them things. ATEN!!!

We made it home. A few dings and scratches (figuratively and literally), but not too much worse for wear. I hope you had a good weekend. I think the only thing that went as planned was pasta. Ironically, I didn’t have any pictures of that so here’s the crab. As you probably want, we’re finishing off the day with church…ATEN!!!

I travel for food. Not sure what you travel for. Hope you’re enjoying the food scene so far. Although we’re more than halfway done with your trip. I got my milk tea so I’m good. What are you looking forward to? Anyhow, may the food be with you for the remainder of the trip. I wonder if “may the force be with you” is related to “peace be with you”. TTMT!!!

I’m sorry we had some unpleasant talks today. It wasn’t the intention, but when you brought up the kid’s school donation thing, it set it off. We really do need to address the things we need to address. We don’t need someone else to tell us how to fix our problems if we’d only listen to each other sometimes… I know they are uncomfortable topics, but ignoring it is not going to make it go away. We need to find a course of action and move forward. We can’t keep walking away from the conversations. If you want Team Boba to see future birthdays we have to do this sooner than later. TLG!!!

I thought my neck hurt because I slept on too fluffy of a pillow, but it’s more sore today so I wonder if maybe it’s a muscle pull. As previously noted, I won an iPad. But I guess it’ll go to Vinh’s 529 per his momma. In other news, my normal sandwich I get at Starbucks is now $6.50, but what’s crazier is that some Starbucks sell It for $10.50. I know work pays for it, but not cool. I would have rather gotten a bowl of pho and cafe su fha for $17 at Pho 79. See you soon Em. ATEN!!!

I think I slept wrong. My neck/shoulder on the right hurts a little. I think it’s Nha’s pillows. Also I think her ice smells, but it’s I don’t know if I should say anything. Remember when you used to make my pee expensive and my bladder work extra? I thought I would help you out and drink some extra vitamins so we can clear them out. It’s good to hear that you’re doing good with Vinh without me. I wonder why he is more difficult with me. Any ideas? TLG!!!

I wish I had some on. I really had to pee when the plane took off today. The one then I take the window seat and it turns out I have to pee. There was a couple next to me and the guy was asleep so I didn’t want to bother him. I couldn’t really sleep because I had to pee, but surprisingly I made it even though the plane arrival kept getting delayed (rough landing too). Now the plane is taxiing and I’m waiting to get off. Sadly, I’m in the back of the plane. Probably can’t pee until I get off since people will be blocking the aisle. TLG!!!

That’s what today’s email from that retreat place sent me. Sometimes things are in our blind spot in our relationship, the same way things can be in our blind spots when we drive. Sometimes we need someone else to check out our blind spots for us. Here is Noah’s Ark for elephants for church or whatever. Let’s remember to check our blind spots in our relationship. TTQD!!!

Today’s sermon was about grace, mercy and love I think.  We didn’t keep the booklet so I can’t confirm. Anyhow, I will try to forgive your trespasses 77 x 7 times, but I hope that Team Boba will have less trespasses to forgive. ATEN!!!

Who would have ever thought the refrigerator would look like this in the Do House? Lots of changes since Team Window became Team Boba. So far I don’t like most of the changes. Worst is that I can’t or shouldn’t or don’t want to eat most of the stuff in there. TLG!  

Funny how life works. I never like matcha, so I avoided the Koala Tea from Koala Tea. Then I discovered that I liked green Thai tea. My wife really liked the matcha Thai tea from Tastetea.  So here I am, back at Koala Tea after years (pre-covid). Kind of sad as I recall when they opened I would bring some to Tao and TJ for our afternoon golfing. How I would like to go back to that time, but then I would still be working in the office. TLG!!!

I subscribed to daily emails from the couples retreat people. Did you get a discount on our tickets? Anyhow, they send me emails every morning about how to work on our marriage.  There seems to be a theme about making God the center of our lives, but then I had this thought about how we don’t live very biblically. So could that be the reason why? But then I just thought about your role model couple of Skippers and they’re not religious. And I’m sure there are tons of people who are not and doing well. WWJD!!! Extra thought: You always want to make sure you don’t miss mass because you want to feel closer to God, but if you want to be closer shouldn’t that mean being a living example of a good person? I’m not talking about having feet or not blowing. Cause I don’t think those things make anyone a bad person. As example, being on time to ________? 

Sometimes I feel that you don’t take accountability for your actions or you minimize them. That often leads to a small thing becoming bigger. You almost put my shorts into the laundry with the pockets full of stuff. When I mentioned it, you didn’t seem to care. I brought it up one more time in the evening, but you also ignored/dismissed me. I understand that sometimes you are overwhelmed, but it’s still frustrating for me. TLG!!!

Peter made me go to his house to work today. It messed up my plans, but I guess I’m supposed to be working anyways… I don’t remember if you liked this, but I think we ate it in Canada and San Jose. Peter really likes it and they have deals from Uber Eats. I saved you some. Also got you a Patrie coconut. ATEN!!!

Avocado’s birthday since it’s the same day as the 9/11 memorial stuff…but in all seriousness, they had a memorial stair climb by firefighters today at our building. I remember when I tried doing the stairs as exercise… I intended to turn over a new leaf last week, but it didn’t turn over much so I’m gonna try again today. I say that as I’m finishing the other half of my footlong sandwich. I’m gonna keep trying. Not gonna give up. ATEN!!!

I was thinking about it this morning. Our lives would be great if we just communicated correctly what our expectations and wants are and our partner just does them. It’s funny that we ended up talking about it in our session today. I understand that the issues is that we don’t always agree. I just wish you could be better about accepting my expectations and wants the same way work to accept yours. But I guess it’s just more difficult for you. TLG!!!

For allowing me to have some moments for personal time. Sorry that Vinh has so much fun with you that he doesn’t want to go to sleep. Slow day, but golfing (even though I’m walking and carrying my golf bag on my back because I need to exercise) I ended up 3 putting this hole for www, but still rather do that than not be able to try. ATENest!!!

But that doesn’t mean I agree with you and that’s okay. I think sometimes we don’t acknowledge or appreciate when we hear people or when people hear us. We only do so if they agree with us, but it doesn’t and shouldn’t have to be that way. I hear that you want to go to mass today. I just don’t agree with it. That’s okay. I still respect you. Disagreeing doesn’t mean disrespecting. Please remember that. ATEN!!!

He reminds me of Kevin Hart, the comedian. Today I had to cover for my coworker at a speaking engagement I used to have to go to monthly before we hired her. She was at another event. I had a lot of feelings today about it. He’s a motivational speaker from Sacramento (Citrus Heights). Anyhow, he has a pretty amazing story and he just reminded me about living my best life. Basically about continuing to move forward and keeping positive. ATEN!!!

See, even babies want control in their lives. So you can see how frustrating it can be as adults when you can’t control things… It’s important to understand what we can and cannot control. So when things that we should be able to control somehow become uncontrolled, it’s maddening. #bladder. With that in mind, please help me control things I can control so that ATEN!!!

I believe there’s a movement where kid’s beds are basically on the ground and against the wall. That way it minimizes the child’s ability to fall off or out. In our case, it allows Vinh to roll around to comfort himself back to sleep. Vinh is reenacting his arm getting stuck. I believe that’s what woke him up this morning. That’s how I found him when he was crying. It’s also easier for you to get him in and out of bed. TTQD!!!

Sometimes I ask myself how much my time is really worth. It’s odd because it’s sometimes inconsistent. Like when I drive to another store to save money on something I could buy at the store I’m at. Or I wonder if it’s worth my time to return something. Like if I didn’t need to go to Walmart, should I make a special trip just for this. The next question I need to ask myself is a combo of both. This shirt is only $3 at Michaels and it’s $5 here. What to do? TLG!!!

I don’t remember if you’ve ever had savory chicken, but we used to go here a lot. Not sure if they’re under new management, but I sure hope it’s as good as it was from before or at least I hope you like it. At least they didn’t run out of the stuff I wanted to order. Not sure about their other menu items. Wonder why I stopped eating here. It is kind of far, but then again I live in Elk Grove. TTQD!!

It rained today… I got so wet golfing. Was not expecting nor was I prepared for this. Hopefully no damage to golf equipment from water. Anyhow, I thought I found my groove, but I just had a blowup hole and currently sucking on this hole… Still sucking, but had a chance at a birdie and putted like a Kevin…TLG!!!

The following post is not meant as criticism. It’s more an evaluation of what it means to be high value. I think the problem is metrics. I’ve found that a lot of women tend to rate themselves or other women.  The issue with that is that it doesn’t matter what the woman thinks. It matters what the partner thinks. I can tell you that I think I’m amazing, but if you don’t think so, that’s what matters. So I have to ask you, as the end user, what do you value? So what you think makes you high value is irrelevant if I don’t share your values. I think I’ve made it pretty clear what I value. If you want to discuss it further or a reminder of what I value, just let me know. Again, not a criticism, but a reminder that value lies with the purchaser of the product, not the seller of that product. WWW!!!
