Our Love Story Begins Today

Today at Tham and Eric’s I dropped off some cans. They felt bad because they just ate in n out and didn’t get any for me 😂. I played mah jong with the kids and Ella owes another milk tea. I ate my ECs shrimp, but I was unable to eat the carrots. Poor Chase is sad he can’t find any sports he can play for school. Kids are so polite and funny. Ben said he just farted so I shouldn’t sit next to him. Hope you’re having a good time when reading this. TTQD!!!

I hope it’s not Covid. I’ve been feeling lightheaded lately. Who knows. But Covid would ruin a lot of plans for sure. Could be all the smoke I’ve inhaled lately or the lack of sleep. Anyhow, here’s some donuts. I wish I had some. I don’t think there exists a vice that is free. By definition, a vice should be bad for you, but free is usually a good thing. Anyhow, I should look into some free vices or at least less expensive ones. #resetting. TLG!!!

Man. Where to begin today? Delayed dentist. Cancelled medical appointment. But I was able to learn that Sutter doesn’t want to see if I have dual coverage? Who would have known? Here’s a picture that didn’t make the cut yesterday. Affogato. Decaf of course (I think, blue pod 😂 ironic). But I did cancel my Kaiser today. I did reschedule medical appointment. I paid my respect to a friend. So I’m moving forward. Resetting as I go. It’s really a never ending cycle, but there’s a lot of satisfaction from getting things done. Like this post. ATEN!

Every fall, the most golf courses poke thousands of little holes into the greens. It’s meant to allow for improved green health. It doesn’t make it fun to putt, but it’s necessary for the longevity of the greens. (there were a lot of pictures to choose from today, but I picked this one because it symbolizes Japan, Em Chu, and my mom. Lots of love there) I felt really bad that your fear of my reaction made you worried/sad today and in general. Some people work well with negative motivation, others need positive reinforcement. I think we need to reset and see if we can find a different way forward. TLG!

First off, they did a great job renovating the church. It looks so much brighter than before. Tangent, today’s Hidden Brain reference a similar line to today’s sermon about “being on a team”. I spent part of today’s evaluating my life. Coincidentally, the sermon today is telling me to cut off body parts…lol. So I guess it was great timing. Anyhow, I guess I should take my own advice and not let perfect be the enemy of good. And try to be who I think I should be. ATEN!!!

Today was an eh day, but so far life isn’t bad. So that’s good. Sometimes it’s hard to remember the good things in the midst of bad things, but it’s something that people should always try. It helps to put things in perspective. Not sure what the Moon Festival symbolizes or what we should do to celebrate, but chuc mung tet moon festival. TTQD!!!

Expecting perfection often leads to disappointment. But striving for perfection can often lead to better than average results. It’s one of those ironies. That’s kind of how today went. Don’t let “great” be the enemy of “good” is what they say. Whenever I expect my life to be perfect, I’m disappointed. But when I try to be perfect, I never am, but the results are usually good. Life isn’t going to be perfect, but it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t for perfection. What’s important is that we don’t let the failure get us down. Rather, we use failure to learn and grow.

People say money can’t buy happiness or love or whatever, but it’s only because the buyer probably doesn’t have enough money. It’s true that there are probably things money can’t buy, but mostly everything can be bought or facilitated if the price is right. Money bought this food. But it didn’t buy the great time I had hanging out with the Chongs. Money bought the Rolex (Ella was fascinated with it today for some reason), but it did let me know that EC really wuvved Anh. Money bought us happiness. Sorry that tonight’s post isn’t as eloquent as other post. TLG!!!

Happy birthday to my favorite female! I forgot to take a picture of you today, but just replace the burger with banh mi and it looks the same. Maybe a little less sunlight too. Anyhow, I hope you have/had a great birthday and got everything you wanted (or as much as you could). As we get more mature we start to realize that it’s not the quantity of birthdays we get that matters, but the quality of birthdays. Hope this one was A5 for you. TTQD!!!

Hi EC. Happy Birthday Eve. Sorry we did not celebrate today, but we’ll celebrate tomorrow 😬 At least you got to relax 😂 and you even got pie and lamb and chicken wings and banged 🤐, so you’re doing pretty well I think. Anyhow, thanks for being born. TTQD!!!

Today I did lots of laundry. Also did lots of dishes. Got lots done today. I also finished and consolidated food. I did some other things too. Today this guy called and asked about our programs at work and then told me his life story about marriage and his divorce. Told me not to get married. I told him too late 😂. I think marrying you is better than being by myshelf. TTQD!!! 🤣 

Man, I almost forgot to complete this blog post today. It titled it and then got busy doing laundry and other stuff. I did if by myshelf… Today was a productive day even though we went to multiple churches. It was nice to see the Garcias. Just all part of making the effort to keep in touch with people. It’s very tiring, but it’s important to maintain good relationships. Hopefully it’s easier if I’m not doing it all by myshelf. ATEBM!!!

Anh thuong Em because Em is like Anh. Em thuong Anh because Anh is like Em…Really nice to be able to take an easy day today. Enjoy good company, good food and an all around good time. It’s a simple, but nice day. Would be a great way to live life 😂. Great lesson in enjoying and appreciating what we have and how fortunate we are. And we get to be fortunate again tomorrow 🐷. ATEN!!

I guess when you really think about it, there shouldn’t be much to complain about. Yet, we can always seem to find first world problems if we want. Let’s not do that today. Blessed to wake up and get up. Wife make food for our mother and us. I got to go golfing today and got and eagle. I got to go to Costco and buy food. And then I got to home and stuff my face. I’m map det. Anyhow, I’m most blessed because I got EC. TTQD!!!

FYI, just so you know I do check your blog regularly, but you said you don’t read the comments so I didn’t comment. Back to today’s post, I was walking to get some UPS envelopes today at work and it got me thinking (reminded me) how lucky and fortunate I am. Obviously, I’m lucky I have EC, but today I was looking at other reasons. I have the freedom to take breaks and walks at work when I need them. I have the money to randomly purchase things. I have the luxury of being able to eat out when I want. I’m fortunate that I don’t go out of control (contrary to what EC thinks). Life isn’t always great for my liking, but comparatively speaking my life is pretty amazing. Thanks for being part of it. A good part for the most part 😂. TLG!!

Hi EC, I’m sure there are a lot of reasons to thank you. Some joking and some serious, but today I want to thank you for your patience (or obliviousness) regarding the mess around the house. It’s been slow, but I’m really trying to clean up the house. Thanks for your patience. My goal now is to stop shifting the mess from one area to another. Let’s keep the couch area clean. TTQD!!!

Newsom defeated the recall. Gave a good speech, but I wonder if it’s genuine. Good movie happened to be on tv so I took pictures for you. Lastly, had to create separate packages. Wait I also used the dishwasher, but I just realized I should have tried to wash the stained pot with it sorry. Wait also made some headway on cleaning up my space. See you soon Em. It’s not the first time I’ve bled for you: I tried to grab the box behind the front and the cardboard cut me. Then the sanitizer burned. But hey, my baby for banh. Sometimes love hurts, but I’m willing to get hurt for my EC. Anh Thuong Em Nhat. TTQD!!!

He was like “Ha, ha, uncle you can’t catch me…” I told him I had shoes on so I can’t chase him. He told me to take off my shoes so I can chase him. 😂  He was a little sad I couldn’t chase him. Then he came downstairs and I catch him. That will teach him to always be on his guard. You too!!! Stop staring at your phone. TTQD!!!

It’s easy to say, but hard to do. We often worry about stuff we have no control over and ignore the things we can control. Funny how that works. Not things are in small quantities. It’s often excess that causes the issues. Unrelated, but I kind of thought about that when Jesus says how can you prepare for heaven if you keep thinking like a human? Anyhow, I’m gonna try to work on things I can control. Right after I eat some more candy 😂. ATEN!!!

It’s another great Fri-Yeah!!! Got to work a little. Golf a little. Eat a lot. Can’t complain, actually I could, but I shouldn’t 😂. I also got a free dash camera for Caleb. Wife got picture frames. As did I. All in all good day. If only all the days could be like this, then I could spend more time TTQDing…

What a day!!! It was sooooo slow at work. I felt like I worked, but time didn’t move and I couldn’t take a nap. I’ve been really spoiled being at home. Can’t work 8-5 anymore. Soooo tired. I overate cause I was tired and now I’m tired and fat at home. BBQD!!! But at least I have EC. TTQD! Forgot to press “post”.

First world problems. Blessed. Good problem to have. Those are very important things to remember. While I hate the saying “it could always be worse”, it’s true and for many people, comparatively, it’s very true. Peter lost a lot of weight, being fat isn’t ideal, but it’s the freedom that he can eat what he wants that made him fat. Could be worse, if he was skinny and starving. Just a reminder, we don’t always have to beat ourselves up, but we should never forget how lucky we are. TTQD!! 

Hidden Brain episode this week is about happiness. It’s often a tricky subject as it’s very subjective. Many people may share ideas about happiness, but it’s really unique to each person. This picture represents many things that make me happy. Em, food, fun…you should listen to the podcast episode. I’m gonna work on it. TTQD!!!

Is EC mouth open or not? Just like a baby. Sweeping after a busy day she’s all tired out. 🥰 We had a successful, but busy day today. Awesome! Next try is to have a successful day that’s not busy, but successful is better than unsuccessful. TTQD!!!

In good times it’s easy to forget your blessings, but in bad times, they’re much easier to spot. The events of the past few days reminds me of all the blessings afforded to me. It’s very easy to complain, but if we remember how fortunate we are, life is much more bearable and bright. #blessed. TTQD!!

Today you did lots of cool things. Let me get you fancy coffee. Taught Vietnamese to the fam. Hung out with the fam.  You also chatted with my mom. Although I was a little annoyed you invited her to church. Ultimately I am happy she went. Wish her hair was fixed 😔. Thanks again for all you did today and do in general. TTQD!

I’ve never been a person who cherished a day or occasion as I want to believe that everyday and every occasion should be appreciated. Like if I give you gifts all year long, you shouldn’t be super sad if you don’t get one on your birthday, but that’s probably just me. Today was a delayed day of spending time with EC. I’m guessing you think of it also as a belated birthday celebration (where I paid for my own stuff 😂), but delayed or not I appreciated it. Even though we did all the things you wanted to do. Happy wife, her life is happy…ATEN!!!

Whenever I hear the word “blessed”, I laugh and remember the story of Ritchie and Yen. If you don’t know it, I’ll tell you it. But today I felt blessed, as well. It’s not to hard to find things to complain about because life is inherently unfair. What’s hard is to find your blessings and recognize them. So many blessings today if you know where to look: (i) woke up next to EC (ii) woke up at all (iii) woke up relatively healthy (iv) nice house (v) nice job (vi) got to go golfing today (vii) have great friends (viii) likely go out to eat after. I could keep going, but basically the glass only empty if one sees it that way. ATEN!!!

I know EC wants a child. I can see the positives when I hang out with kids, but I also see the negatives and I’m sure there’s a lot of things I don’t see. Tonight was mostly positive. Kids at slow and got yelled at, but that was all I saw. Eric was on the verge of buying everyone milk tea cause he lost all but 1 chip. Sadly he won and Ella is the loser. Chase said to make sure I tell you 😂. ATEN!!!
