Our Love Story Begins Today

I think God’s always testing us. Seems like the Bible teaches that too. So now I wonder if maybe your mom is God’s way of testing or teaching you something, but you don’t want to learn it. There’s a guy that talks about timing of when to be honest. During the heat of the moment was not the right time for me to say anything, but hopefully now is. You and your mom’s relationship could be why Vinh was so bad today. Maybe he’s channeling that energy. They always say the way you treat your parents is the way your kids will treat you. I know you do a lot for your mom, but you harbor so much hate and vitriol that it taints the actions. I really hope you find a way to be more productive with how you react to negativity in your life. I saw you yell at Vinh again today and I don’t like it. You didn’t throw a bowl this time, but you also didn’t watch him go downstairs I thought you were gonna push him. Oops. Forgot to press post: Amazon and all these sites offer free delivery. It’s crazy how we lived before without it. But it’s also crazy how we do the math in our heads to spend more just to get free delivery or we won’t pay $5 to deliver $1000 item.  I always think of you when I see the nasty cookies you got me from Costco. I was gonna get you this but there’s no room in the fridge. I can deliver it for free if you want it though. Have lots of drugs to get at Costco…

On cooking stuff for thanksgiving. Although I didn’t really like it, at least it seems like others did. So you don’t need to make those items for me in future unless you plan on tweaking the recipe to my preference, but you can make it for yourself or others.  I was feeling a little off today and I can’t tell if it’s because I didn’t sleep or my blood pressure or both. I will need to be healthier. Need to maximize my pension. 💪 

More time to do stuff. I got a lot to do. Today I did laundry and ironed all my clothes that needed ironing. Also gonna drop off and pick up Vinh from daycare. Then I will play and take him to My Gym. Tonight I will probably play with him and put him to sleep, but it’s good that tomorrow is a holiday. Wonder if we’re gonna swim tonight…

I was thinking I saved you a lot of time for you. That way you can spend all your time with Vinh. I figured you don’t get much time with him. So I hope you enjoy it. I mean I get all the days off and extra Vinhtivities… This is from the selfie stick I got you. You’re welcome. Best husband you’ve had. 😂 

The theme song to Gilligan’s Island talks about a 3 hour tour that lead to the shipwreck. Today I had a 3 hour lunch because I love you. Then I go back to work, sit in traffic, get home and go to the gym with Vinh and you. Then I watch him play while you play on your phone. That’s my love. 😍 now I’m laying with you until Vinh falls asleep and then you’re gonna tell me you’re too tired so I can go to sleep. Repeat tomorrow 😂.

It seems like I always get issues with Costco. One time they wouldn’t let me return things on your card. Another time I couldn’t use your rewards check. Today  couldn’t get your free turkey. Must be employee issues… I guess it’s better that I don’t try to do things for you at Costco. Sorry bro. #terrorist

I can’t and shouldn’t expect you to be 💯 every chance you get. But I do find it a little disappointing and frustrating when you could be 💯, but you don’t. It makes me think, “what’s the point?”. I usually don’t push it further, but it’s really beginning to bother me. If you don’t want to give 💯, I understand, but I think I’m going to have to call you out when it happens. You always talk about how you admire people, but you have the potential to do things like them (that you admire), but you don’t. It reminds me of the self-defeating attitude you have that grinds my gears. If you choose to keep it up, fine, but I’m gonna make sure you know you’re doing it because the alternative isn’t “important enough” for you…

I’m sorry I forgot the bread. I didn’t do my normal round path at Costco so I skipped by the bakery and didn’t remember later own as I was trying to make it home in time for Dina, but I still should have gotten it. It’s okay that it happened once, but it’s not ok if it keeps happening. Anyhow, you “forgot” lemons so it’s okay, but if it keeps happening, it’s an issue. I hope you understand that. DLLA.

I think it’s fine if we didn’t participate. I don’t want to get into a habit of competing with other parents to do things for their kids…BUT…I also feel like we have an obligation to do the best we can with what we have. We have the means to do this (I have to time), so I should. Hopefully there never comes a time when I can’t, but as long as I can, I should. That goes for life in general. If we can, we should. 

When your mom mentioned that she thinks my life is good, I didn’t disagree, but I also couldn’t help but think that many of the things in my life didn’t happen by chance. They were a result of my decisions and choices I made and didn’t make.  You could argue that there was luck, but even luck needs help and I’m lucky or unlucky because of my actions as well. Anyhow, you’re pretty lucky to have me. I hope you know and appreciate that before it’s too late. 🪦 

Teachable moment? Today I asked your parents if they wanted to go shopping for groceries. Your dad said he wanted to go to New Asia and FoodsCo. He wanted to go to the FoodsCo on Stockton Blvd. I was thinking does he mean East Stockton cause it’s not near New Asia. Long story short, he added some stores. He told me where to exit and decided he didn’t want to go someone first. It would take a lot for me to talk back to your parents and this was not even close to that. But imagine it was not your parents. I still don’t think it is necessary to cause drama. So I just go with it. If it became a repeated issue, my reaction/action could change. There’s always more than one way to handle a situation. I don’t want drama…

I have to remember that maybe I shouldn’t schedule meetings at 10AM on Mondays (and possibly Wednesdays). I don’t want to pressure mom to feed him faster, but then I’ll end of not making it to the office in time for the meetings. Mom is very patient with him and really tries to feed him so it’s a small price to pay. But once they go home he’s gonna be back to the strict 3 x 10 rule. I feed him 3 things for 10 minutes each and if he doesn’t eat we move on. And he has to be up by 8A. Hope he enjoys the attention while he can.

Had a few close calls today, but I got us home safely. I think you’re ovary-acting about flying from now on. Anyhow, I hope you had a great time. Sorry if you didn't, but we tried. This was my fault, but the big rig wasn’t. Anyhow, $200 in gas (filled extra tanks included) is still cheaper than one flight and not having to bother people for car seat and ride…think about it…

Hi Long Beach 🏝️. It wasn’t a bad drive. I was debating not stopping, but I was worried we wouldn’t have enough gas. I think we can only not stop if we leave from the gas station. Need all the miles we can get. I hope you enjoy your time here. It’s short so you need to make sure you maximize your experience. I believe in you.

It’s crazy that I not only went to So Cal twice this week, but that I’m driving both times. Anyhow, I am worried that the fatigue I’ve been getting with the vitamin and time change and waking up earlier will make me tired on the road. Hopefully not. I still like driving at night and will be less stressed with just Team Boba in the car. Today I wore this shirt just for a meeting and ended up popping a pimple taking it off. FML. 🤦‍♂️ 

Today I found a classic, but it wasn’t as good as I remember. I don’t think it will ever be, but it was still pretty good. I haven’t had a good milk tea that wasn’t coffee related in a while. I usually don’t like matcha, but I did enjoy today’s drink.  To help you out, I finished it for you. You’re welcome ☺️. Might have to go back there again and try the other drinks again. I always feel wasteful buying Thai tea.

I still fit the wedding suit. From Viet Nam. WWW. I think it looks better if I pull my pants up higher. Thanks for the suit. Hope this suit keeps fitting for a while. There’s still that weird thing with the shoulder, but at least I can breathe. Next suit definitely needs to stretch. I’m mad I wasn’t more adamant about making the other wedding suit looser. I can’t tell if they just wanted me to buy another suit when I got fatter or if they really wanted it to fit perfectly…

We played golf with some nice randoms this week. Peter said Kiel was cocky for saying he was a partner in a firm, but I didn’t hear it so I dunno. But at least there are still polite white people out there post-election. This was the sunrise driving down to LA. It was kinda weird driving that early because we were tired, but got less tired since the sun came out. Should be interesting drive down at night again. I’ll make sure to take a nap before we go. I feel like I’ve tired earlier now…

Did you choose me or did I choose you? I was listening to the song by Sara Barellis. Classic song that I hadn’t heard in a long time. Today’s mass downtown was in Spanish. I debated sticking around but instead opted to listen to mass on my way home online. I knew it was gonna be in Spanish, but didn’t feel like listening and figured time was better spent understanding today’s readings. Need to refocus on whether we have good people in our lives who serve as good examples what good people should be. Also need to refocus on whether we are those good people and examples to others. DLLC 🙏.

On the goi. I enjoyed it. I think it just needs thinner and crispier mango, but you did a good job. Hopefully I didn’t offend you by letting your mom alter it… Thanks for letting me swim today. Hope you enjoy your time away from me. Have fun at church. Hope your parents aren’t mad at me for not going to church with you guys 🙏.

I don’t recycle because I think it’s fun. I recycle because it’s good for the world. A world that has other people besides me. You could argue like Phoebe (from friends) that there’s no such thing as a selfless act, but a lot of things come close. As a mother, you should be want the best for your family. As a wife, you should not want the best for your marriage. I was thinking, this is what people argue is wrong with society today, but that’s a longer discussion. It takes a little extra effort, but recycling is not for me or you, it’s for everyone else…including Vinh and all the kids you supposedly love so much… 

It’s better than 60/40 the wrong way. Unfortunately, with the election we’re on the wrong side. But when it comes to your parents being here, what’s your math? I thought we discussed it prior to them getting here and thought we were on the same page… Was your math off? Or is being in the moment distracting from the bigger picture? We can send your parents home earlier if you want. It’s really your call. I can’t change my work schedule for next week or the Kitchen reservation, but other than that, I’ll do what I can. I don’t want this negatively impacted innocent people…

That seems to be the case. But maybe when there’s nothing left, we die? Sometimes I wonder if I should be thankful that I always have things to do. Today the dishwasher had an issue. I think it happened before and I just reset it, but I wonder why it happened. Unfortunately, I don’t really have time to look it up. Hopefully, there’s no issues. Now I have to leave for work trip earlier. Now I might have to leave earlier. Always something…

Is always appreciated. We get an extra hour tomorrow. Hoping to not have too much planned tomorrow so that we can relax and recover from the week and vacation. I don’t think we really had that opportunity. Glad I’m not golfing and I don’t plan to play mahjongg. Surprised I was able to get so much done today with so little sleep. Definitely not a recommended regular practice. I need coffee (didn’t have any today)…

Lol. It’s a funny title cause I do you and I’m taking your parents shopping. I just peeled a mole I thought was a pimple on my neck. I hope it doesn’t kill me. Lots to do today. Trying to multitask as I wait for your parents. I hope your parents don’t feel rushed. This must be what you do on your breaks at work. Multitask with only your phone. Too bad I can’t get good wifi to work with my laptop. Still have plenty to do. Looking forward to the day when there’s less, but in a bad way…
